Maharashtra recently announced that the lockdown would be extended till May 31 with the same restrictions applied. Being one of the major states within India that got hit hard by the second wave of coronavirus, the lockdown has proven to be efficient as the daily cases in Maharashtra have shown a steady decline.

Due to the travel restrictions imposed as a part of the lockdown, people cannot commute anywhere within the state and are advised to stay safe at home. However, there is an allowance for people with urgent requirements to travel outside with a valid ePass provided by the Maharashtra State Government.

It should also be noted that frontline workers and essential service providers are exempted from any travel restrictions and do not need an ePass. This article will provide information for those who want to apply for a Maharashtra ePass.

Requirements:

• You need to have a laptop, desktop, or smartphone with a webcam feature and a stable internet connection.
• You need to have all your personal details, travel details, vehicle details, and residential details.
• You need a passport size photo if the webcam feature isn’t available.
• You need to have the softcopy of the supporting document.

How to apply for a Maharashtra ePass?

Ensure that you are applying for a Maharashtra ePass only under unavoidable circumstances such as medical emergency, funeral service, and treatment of any kind. Here’s how you can apply for a Maharashtra ePass:

1. Visit the Maharashtra Police Covid-19 ePass portal at https://covid19.mhpolice.in/.
2. Click on ‘Apply for New Pass’.
3. On the next page, you will be asked if you need to travel outside of Maharashtra. Select the appropriate option.
4. Provide all the information required such as:

            • Name
            • Travel Period
            • Mobile Number
            • Travel type and travel purpose
            • Vehicle type and vehicle number
            • Email address
            • Residential address and travel information
5. Upload a picture of the applicant. Ensure that the image size is within 200 KB.
6. Attach the supporting document (Essential Service Letter/Medical Report/Company ID). Ensure the image size doesn’t exceed 1 MB.
7. Click on ‘Submit’ to proceed with the verification process.
8. After verification, you will receive a Token ID which you can use to check the status of your ePass.

How to Check Status & Download ePass?

1. Visit the Maharashtra Police Covid-19 ePass portal at https://covid19.mhpolice.in/.
2. Click on ‘Check Status / Download Pass’.
3. Enter the Token ID.
4. Click on ‘Submit’ to check the status of your ePass. If it has been approved, you can download it.
