What happens in the American thriller?
The film is set in 2024, where the government has devised a synaptic blocking signal, the American Peace Initiative (API) signal. This signal can prevent the thought of committing a crime. The film shifts to a robber, Graham Bricke, who robbed a bank with his crew. But they tested the API signal on Bricke’s crew, which killed one member. After the successful robbery, Bricke lies to his employers, the Dumois family, that he lost the money from the robbery. In reality, he hid the money because he planned to flee to Canada with that money.
But everything goes wrong for Bricke when he receives the news of the death of his brother Rory, who was in prison. Also, someone stole Bricke’s money. While looking for his money, Bricke visits Sidell and tortures him to reveal something about the money. Sidell reveals that Johnny from Bricke’s heist team has revealed that he is hiding the money from the Dumois crime family. So Bricke kills Johnny after killing Sidell.
Later, he buys a neurotoxin and visits a bar, where he encounters Shelby Dupree. She introduces Bricke to Kevin Cash, who was in prison with his brother. Kevin reveals that the API signal in the prison was tested on them and that the prison guards killed Rory. Furthermore, Shelby and Kevin Bricke offer to join them for a money factory heist, which they will carry out before the API signal launches.
Bricke gets Ross, his trusted getaway driver, for the robbery. He also learns that Kevin was the heir to the Dumois family and so takes charge of the robbery. Meanwhile, Shelby uses her skills to prepare false bills worth $5 million for the heist. But soon Bricke discovers that Shelby works for the FBI, who threatened to harm her sister if Shelby refuses to do business.
Further, Officer Willian Sawyer joins the case and is given immunity to the API signal. Kevin takes Bricke to meet his father, Rossi, but Rossi shoots Kevin, causing Kevin to kill his father. Soon, Rossi’s right-hand man, Lonnie, arrives and takes Shelby hostage. Lonnie drugged Shelby and was about to molest her when Bricke arrived and killed him. The team once again sets up their plan to completely fill the heist.
