Amidst these epic biopics being made, gaining acclaim, and in return, these movies inspiring people too, what could have been a better opportunity to make a movie on the Indian badminton Olympics champion, Saina Nehwal. The biopic was released as ‘saina,’ the first name of the player.
Saina OTT and Theatrical Release:
The sports movie was released on 26 March 2021 in the theatres with a 50% occupancy rate. The film was initially scheduled to be released in September 2020 but kept getting delayed due to the COVID 19 restrictions.
The movie was also being considered for an OTT release; however, confirmation is being in talk and hasn’t been official yet. The digital platform might be the safest and the most secure way for the makers to market their work. We can expect the release within the next few months.
