Peaky blinders is a British crime drama television series. A total of 4 seasons was premiered with a gap of 1 year between each season. The first season was premiered 13 September 2013 and ran for six episodes. The second season premiered on 2 October 2014. The third season premiered on 5 May 2016. The fourth series premiered on 15 November 2017; after the series finale broadcast on 20 December 2017, it was announced that the fifth series will be broadcast in 2019.

There is a total of 24 episodes in the previous 4 season, the 5th season is to be released this year as per the finale of season 4.

Peaky Blinders Cast-

Peaky blinders was written by Steven Knight. The series featured Cillian Murphy,  Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Sam Neill, Annabelle Wallis, Sophie Rundle, Joe Cole, Tom Hardy, Adrien Brody, Aidan Gillen, Charlotte Riley, Finn Cole, Natasha O’Keeffe, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kate Phillips, Noah Taylor, Paddy Considine, Alexander Siddig  Iddo Goldberg, Gaite Jansen, Charlie Murphy, Benjamin Zephaniah, Jack Rowan, Thomas James Foot, as the lead actors. We might see some new faces this season. Season 1 of Peaky blinders was directed by Otto Bathurst and Tom Harper. Colm McCarthy directed the season 2 of the series. The third season of the series was directed by Tim Mielants. Season 4 of the series is directed by David Caffrey. Anthony Byrne directed the season 5.

The series was one of the most demanded series as of now. IMDB rated the series 8.8 out of 10, whereas rated the series 8.9 out 10. Rotten tomatoes marked Peaky blinders as 95%.

Peaky Blinders Plot

The story revolves around a gangster family. The theme of the series is based in Birmingham, England in 1919. The theme of the story is set just after few months of world war 1. The gang comes to the attention of Chief Inspector Major Chester Campbell, a detective in the Royal Irish Constabulary sent over by Winston Churchill from Belfast, where he had been sent to “clean up” the city of the Irish Republican Army (IRA), Communists, gangs and common criminals.

Winston Churchill charged him with suppressing disorder and uprising in Birmingham and recovering a stolen cache of arms meant to be shipped to Libya. The first series concludes on 3 December 1919 – “Black Star Day”, the event where the Peaky Blinders plan to take over Billy Kimber’s betting pitches at the Worcester Races.
