Mum paralysed from stroke after eco protest stranded her in traffic for six hours

A devastated son was forced to watch his mum “slip away” whilst he was stuck in traffic caused by climate change protestors.

Chris told LBC radio about his experience. He said that his mother is now paralysed after her stroke. Eco-warriors held cars up on the M25 for six hours.

“I was doing a mission of mercy to help my mother,” he told presenter Andrew Pierce.

“When we got her to the hospital, the doctors said if we were to have gotten to them within 90 minutes, her symptoms, her recovery would have been minimal.”

But climate change protests on one of Britain’s busiest and most important roads meant Chris and his mum, who was in urgent need of medical attention, couldn’t move.

He had taken the decision to drive instead of calling an ambulance due to ambulance delays.

“Because she’d been left to endure a stroke for six hours she’s got complete paralysis now down her left side.

“I was there with my mother for six hours watching her slip away, and I could do nothing.

“I am so angry and so upset – this didn’t need to happen.”

How do you think climate change protesters should put their point across? You can share your opinion and hear what others have to say in the comments.

Hundreds of fuming motorists raged as the traffic jam snaked ever longer following activists targeting Junction 3 at Swanley in Kent shortly after 8.30am yesterday, reports The Sun.

The viral footage shows drivers shouting at the protesters who were sitting on the asphalt in hi-vis jackets.

In one video, you can see a man getting out of his van to move climate activists.

One protester told The Sun she was “desperate” for environmental change.

The mum-of-two, Cathy, admitted: “I’m really scared. I don’t want to be doing this, I’m doing this for my children.

“I’m only doing this because I’m desperate.”

In an effort to reduce carbon emissions and save energy, the group demands better insulation in Britain.

They demand that all British homes be insulate by 2025.
