One Direction fans should sit firmly on the edge of their seats as they wait for news to drop about a reunion – something which many fans have been waiting for since they initially went on hiatus six years ago.
One year had passed since Zayn Makik announced his departure. Bandmates ended the band’s existence with their final concert of the year.
Fans hoped that the band would reunite for their 10th anniversary celebration in 2020. However, it is not clear if the group decided against it.
However, it is not certain that the group will reunite.
Speaking to The Mirror, Liam Payne said: “I spoke to Louis about it and we were saying it has to be sooner rather than later”, as he discussed the possibility of a reunion.
The reunion of The Wanted, which saw Liam at Tom Parker’s charity concert Monday, seems to have sparked Liam’s interest.
Although there were numerous issues between One Direction & The Wanted and many Twitter spats among some members, Liam supported them all – suggesting that it might be possible to put aside differences.
It comes after Simon Cowell previously told the publication that he thinks a reunion would happen.
He said: “If I could get into a room with them and just say, ‘You know what, whether it’s six months or something, I think you’d have such a great time’, maybe I could persuade them.”
Niall confessed earlier this year on The Jonathan Ross Show that he would only want to do it if everyone was “completely in”.
He said he wouldn’t want to “half force someone into doing it”, but it’s unclear whether he’s discussing all five lads or just the four of them.
Many fans are skeptical about Zayn’s participation in a reunion, even though they are keen to see it happen. He left the band in 2015.
The possibility of a reunion has been discussed by most of the band members over the years. However, they have kept the details of how they would plan it very secretive.
