Dayton president Dr. Eric Spina and Vice President/ Director of Athletics Neil Sullivan released a statement on Friday, June 2, 2022, saying the community is experiencing devastating heartbreak after the unfortunate death of Jayda. Dr. Spina and Sullivan extended their deepest sympathies to Anthony and the Grant family. Although the news of her passing has surfaced on the internet, her cause of death remains to be a mystery.

Jayda Grant was only 20-years-old when she left the world. Her death has shaken everyone to the core. Since she was too young to have died, netizens are heartbroken to learn about her demise. Talking about Anthony Grant, he is an American basketball coach who is the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Dayton. Anthony was the head coach at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2006 to 2009. Besides, he was the head coach at the University of Alabama from 2009 to 2015 too. The coach was an assistant coach at the University of Florida from 1996 to 2006, before becoming the VCU head coach. The Miami native also served for ten years as an assistant to Billy Donovan at the University of Florida (UF).
