Fatma is an ordinary cleaning lady, commits an unintentional murder while looking for her missing husband, Zafer, who was recently released from prison. Zafer’s shady underworld friends soon find out what she did, and she has no choice but to keep killing in order to survive. She also gets away with it because no one suspects her of being anything other than a regular cleaner. As a result, she becomes an invisible murderer. In the end, murder serves as a release for her repressed years of struggle and sorrow, as well as a new facet of her character that she must confront.
Thoughts On Season 1 of Fatma
The show follows Fatma, a brilliant single woman who tries to battle the system and survive as an independent single woman in a world dominated by men. On the other hand, she is also fighting for her autistic son and her husband who has gone missing. Later, overwhelmed by the injustice of a society where women have no rights, she discovers the ability to murder the men who threaten her and evade getting caught. She commits murder in such an undetectable manner that identifying the perpetrator becomes extremely difficult. She swears that she will not tolerate any kind of oppression or injustice.
This show highlights the pressure and oppression faced by women in Turkey. Even though killing is not right, you cannot help but empathize with her for her fate and hardships.
Will there be a Season 2?
There are six episodes for viewers to enjoy in the first season of Fatma. It’s also unclear whether this will be a one-season show or a multi-season one. Whatever the initial plans were, we all know how quickly they can alter if the series is a success. And it is well-deserving of it.
If Netflix decides to renew the show, we can expect Season 2 to be out before the end of 2022.
