Dhanush’s Asuran is all set to hit the screens on October 4th, 2019. The movie is directed by the National Award winner Vetrimaaran. Asuran is based on a novel called Vekkai written by Poomani. Touted to be an action revenge period drama, Asuran is expected to perform well. The movie is not a big-budget film and is not a commercial mass entertainer.

Releasing along with movies like Sanga Thamizhan which is a high budget film and Sye Raa releasing in the same week, Asuran will have a tight competition from both the films. Given all the pros and cons, the movie will be able to raise 10-20Cr on the first-day worldwide according to trade analysists.
Vetrimaaran is known for its successful and critically acclaimed films in the past. Though his movies are highly appreciated by the critics, they do not always tend to do well at the box office. Movies like Vada Chennai which also had Dhanush in the title role got him a National award as the Best actor but could not create wonders at the Box office.
Coming to the technical details of Asuran, the movie is produced by S. Thanu under the production banner V Creations. The music of the film is composed by G.V Prakash Kumar while the cinematography is done by Velraj. The film is edited by R.Ramar. Coming to the cast, Manju Warrier who is well known in Malayalam industry is debuting with this film as a female lead in Tamil.
