Goblin Slayer’s first episode was aired on 7th October 2018. The show didn’t hit sky highs at first but continued to grow its fan base with each episode. Though faced with some controversy in the few beginning episodes about the depiction of human females and their goblin counterparts, the anime succeeded in proving those controversies wrong as they used the depiction only for setting the plot for the anime.
Shortly after this with few more subsequent episodes, the anime established the genre of dark fantasy.
Storyline
The story follows the adventures of a man in armor whose holy grail of life is to kill and eradicate all the goblins from the face of the world he lives in. Therefore naturally, the question of to what extent he and his comrades can fulfill their goals is the main curiosity point of the story. And given where the story ended in the first season, the only way to get an answer for the same is a subsequent season.
Goblin Slayer Season 2 Release Date
Many speculations were being made on the release of Goblin Slayer season 2. This being the case for almost all anime is not uncommon. But when there is no official word from the studio, it sure becomes a thing of concern for the hardcore fans of any show.
But fortunately this time around even though late an official statement came from White Fox studio. The statement being Goblin Slayer Season 2 has started production on January 31, 2021. This means all the factors that determine if a subsequent season of an anime will come out or not played in the production house’s favor.
Though it is confirmed that we will get a season 2 of the anime, the exact release date hasn’t been revealed yet, but speculations suggest we might see the new season around late 2021 or early 2022.
Plot Details for Season 2
Season 2 brings some new characters to the show. The most interesting of them being the paladin goblin. As we know, season 1 covered volumes 1 and 2 of the light novels, while the movie covered volumes 5. So in total 9 more volumes are still left for the anime to cover and really anything can happen.
