What is Narcos: Mexico?
“Narcos: Mexico” is the spin-off series created in the wake of the dramatic change of course at the end of Season 3 of “Narcos.” Rather than continue as the fourth season of the original show, the decision was made to separate the two stories to reflect the new setting and new cast of characters. While the first film was mainly about criminal drug activity in Colombia, Narcos: Mexico focuses on the beginnings of the illegal drug trade in Mexico in the 1980s, particularly the creation of Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo’s infamous Guadalajara cartel. At the end of Season 2, Gallardo is arrested and imprisoned, starting an all-out war that threatens to break out during his absence in Season 3.
Narcos: Mexico Season 3 Cast
Two of the biggest questions on the minds of “Narcos: Mexico” after its second season were whether actors Scoot McNairy And Diego Luna would return to reprise their roles. We now know that McNairy will return as DEA agent Walt Breslin, the narrator for the first two seasons. Meanwhile, Luna will no longer be performing as Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, at least in part due to his commitments to the Disney+ spin-off series of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” titled “Andor.”
The rest of the returning cast includes Alfonso Dosal, Mayra Hermosillo, Matt Letscher, Manuel Masalva, Alejandro Edda, Gorka Lasaosa and José María Yázpik. Luis Gerardo Méndez as Victor Tapia, Alberto Guerra as Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada and Luisa Rubino as Andrea Nuñez will join them for the first time in Season 3. Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio (aka “Bad Bunny”) will also appear as a guest star, playing “Narco Juniors” gang member Arturo “Kitty” Paez.
