A new documentary titled “Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers” is set to air on BBC One in the UK on September 22. The television special featured several royal family members sharing their fondest memories about the Duke of Edinburgh. According to the Independent, Prince William spoke about his grandfather’s decision to give up his career in the Navy when his wife became the queen. “One of the things I do admire him for is that he gave up a very successful military career to be the Queen’s consort and support her and to go into service and duty in a different way,” William added.
“It was very much a ‘man’s world’ back then so for a man to give up his career to support a woman –- albeit a queen -– was still quite a big step,” William also added (via The Independent). The documentary also featured other family members like Prince Harry, Prince Charles and Princess Anne.
