Vistara Launches International Flight, Flies From Delhi To Changi Akshay Varma, August 7, 2019August 7, 2019 Vistara was quick enough to fill the void that was created after the departure of Jet airways. It was the 6th of August when Vistara launched its maiden International flight. This flight took off from the Delhi airport at 23:40 hours and reached the Changi airport at 07:58 hours local time. The plane which was used to complete the journey of utmost importance was a Boeing 737-800 NG. It was more likes rubbing salt on the wounds of Jet Airways, as earlier, this plane was a member of their fleet. Before the suspension of its operations in April, Jet Airways had the highest market share in the International market. The company shared a tweet that how their guests were welcomed at the Singapore airport with the traditional lion dance to mark the very first international landing of the company. Background of Vistara Vistara is not a self-made company but a joint venture between the Tata group and Singapore Airlines Ltd (SAL). Vistara had 51 percent owned by Tata Sons along with 49 percent stake of SIA. Vistara started its operations way back in 2015. Today this flight has the luxury of conducting well over 1200 flights per week and connecting 40 destinations. Codeshare Partnership with Singapore Airlines(SIA) A day before this launching of an international flight Vistara entered a pact with its holding company that is Singapore Airlines, which was a codeshare partnership for the upcoming launch of international flights service. However, this agreement is still subject to approval from regulatory authorities. What they got up their sleeves? Vistara has a Mumbai to Singapore flight scheduled up next. It will take off on 7th of August. It will be a daily flight. In the days to come the airline has plans to extend their services to/from Dubai, UAE and Bangkok. Business
