Vampire Diaries Season 9: What’s The Possibility?
Since the show released on Netflix, the fanbase has increased in folds and has left the audience gushing over season 9. The real question here is whether there will be a season 9 or not?. However, the actor Ian Somerhalder, playing Damon Salvatore, conveyed his views regarding the rumors of a ninth season in the February 2021 interview.

Vampire Diaries Season 9: The Spinoff
What might prove to be redemption for the fans, a sort of vindication, is the Originals and The Legacies’ spin-off. Both of them are currently excelling in keeping the original storyline. Legacies are premised on Salvatore Boarding School, reminiscing the same home that Damon and Stefan used to live in, The Vampire Diaries.
The fans at least have something to stay connected to the series, and even the actors and creators favor the spinoffs rather than a new season.

Vampire Diaries Season 9 Plot
The season 8 finale was indeed epic with Damon’s and Elena’s attempts to cure the former’s vampirism to get him back to normalcy, which they try by spending leisure time with each other in Mystic Falls.
Weasley’s character died in the series finale, with a lot of dignity, not in a miserable way, which is much due to him being engaged then married to Caroline Forbes. Thus their love story was a hit even though his character died.
A spin-off created of The Vampire Diaries called Legacies revealed how Elena becomes a doctor of the town, and her daughter she has with Damon is shown attending the Mystic Falls High School.

The creators expressed that they don’t think the ninth season would turn out well and work anyways. They said they wouldn’t like to present their characters as grey-haired fathers feeding and taking care of their babies, thus leading married lives.
Paul Wesley plays Stefan Salvatore. However, he thinks that the series was a little protractive before and shouldn’t have been that long, thus completely expressing his views which appear to be not much in favor of a ninth season.
He said that, according to him, it could have ended a year earlier; he said that he thought that the makers kept stretching it as they began to run out of the story, making the plot frustratingly long and monotonous.
