Recently, the users who have Redmi 6 or Redmi 6A have reported that they have started receiving the update of MIUI 10 which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. Actually, in the month of April Redmi disclosed that they had stopped the development of the updates of their two phones Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A. But, in June Redmi announced that they will update Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A to Android Pie. The users of Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A are confirming that the update is reaching their phones by sharing screenshots in the forum. Keep in mind this is NOT Beta MIUI 10 it’s the stable release.
The users of Redmi 6 are being updated by MIUI 10.4.1.0.PCGMIXM and the users of Redmi 6A are being updated by MIUI 10.4.1.0.PCBMIXM. The updates will change their Android versions to Android 9.0 Pie. The size of the updates is of 1.3 GB as seen on the screenshots shared on the forum by Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A users.
If you haven’t got a notification regarding the update then Check it in the Settings of your mobile phone because it might have happened the update has come to your phone but you haven’t been notified. In case, you have received the update then charge your phone as much as possible or plug your phone to the charge and start the update over a good Wi-Fi Network. And all the updates of Redmi comes up in batches, then those updates have also been coming up in batches and will take time to reach every user. So, if you haven’t received yet they don’t worry. You will receive the Andriod 9.0 update soon.
As of the screenshots of the forum, the Andriod 9.0 Pie update includes system-wide Dark Mode for supporting navigation gestures and other features. The new update also supports the ‘face unlock’ feature to increase the security of the installed apps.
