Firstly, there is news that 6.3 magnitudes of the earthquake struck in the northwest region of Lahore this afternoon, and also many other cities of Pakistan including Islamabad, Peshawar and Rawalpindi.
But around 4:35 pm, tremors were also felt in Delhi-NCR region and several other northern states in India like Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana in this evening.
As per the IMD Report
The Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the earthquake of 6.3 magnitudes on the Richter scale has struck the Pakistan – India border region around 4:30 pm.
The earthquake was very near to the Pakistan – India border that is why it not only felt in the border areas of Pakistan but also in the cities of India which are very close to the border areas like Punjab’s Chandigarh, Uttarakhand’s Dehradun, etc.
As per the PMD Report
Coming to the statements given by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), they mentioned that the earthquake magnitude measured 5.8 on the Richter scale and its depth was at 10 kilometers.
The tremors of the earthquake lasted for 8 – 10 seconds but its impact was very strong across the country, mainly in Islamabad and Lahore.
They also mentioned that there are some reports of some damages to the roads, building and offices from Mirpur and other areas of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) and also that many people are severely injured and one person was killed, but they cannot make sure that these reports are correct or not.
As far as Indian regions are concerned, there have been no any reports or statements about the losses to buildings and roads due to earthquake, may be the impact of earthquake in Indian Regions are not as high as in Pakistan.
