The Last Kingdom Season 5 Happening?
Regarding the renewal of the series, the executive producer of the last kingdom Nigel Marchant, said, “We are really proud of The Last Kingdom, which continues to entertain audiences all over the world” to the media.
He also mentioned that the previous season for the series got immense responses all over the world. He said- “We had such a tremendous response to the last season, so are thrilled to be bringing it back for season five on Netflix. With such a loyal fanbase, we’re excited to give viewers a chance to follow Uhtred on the next stage of his quest”.
The Last Kingdom season 5 release date:
The fourth season was aired on 26th April 2020. We can predict the next season of the series in mid-2021. The first two seasons were aired on BBC in 2015 and 2017, respectively.
Regarding the fifth season, sources say that the series is in the pre-production stage right now. The writers are yet to finish the full bound script for the upcoming season, and the shoot may start at any moment. The official release date of next season is awaited; stay tuned.

The Series has featured Alexander Dreymon, David Dawson, Emily Cox, Tobias Santelmann, and Ian Hart so far in the prominent roles. It also featured Harry McEntire, Eliza Butterworth, Eva Birthistle in the supporting roles.
Regarding Season 5, Ian Hart’s Father, Beocca, will be missed after his death in the previous season. Also, Cnut and Steapa had lost their lives in the earlier seasons. There is no information regarding new actors in the upcoming season. The writers will decide the new actors based on the script.
