Strictly Come Dancing star Sara Davies got to meet her professional dance partner Alijaz Škorjanec’s mum on Facetime during rehearsals on Tuesday.
Since 2019, she has been a Dragons Den panellist. The 37-year-old businesswoman is being tested to see if she can perform on the demanding dance show while still managing her day job.
She captioned the post for her 66.2k followers on Instagram with: “So this morning I got to meet the ‘real boss’ – we FaceTimed with @aljazskorjanec ‘s mam (@natasaskorjanec ) to see what she thought of the first weeks dance!
“He’s like a 19-time Slovenian champion in Latin and ballroom but what matters most to this amazing partner of mine is his mam’s opinion!
“So, I was equally nervous and honoured to show her our dance for Saturday!
“She was still smiling so I think I’ve passed the test!”
She replaced Jenny Campbell in the seventeenth series, who decided to leave the programme in early 2019.
Supportive comments flooded in for the entrepreneur, who is the sole owner and founder of Crafter’s Companion, which provides a wide range of papercraft and needlecraft products as well as tutorials for the budding creative as well as the experienced crafter.
Fellow Dragon panelist Theo Pathitis commented hands clapping emojis and Sara replied with a smiley face emoji.
A fan wrote: “Best of Luck for Saturday – just go for it”
One added: “So enjoying your updates, we absolutely love this pairing!”
Another loved that Alijaz was a mummas boy, writing: “Love this!! He’s obviously a very respectful man. Can’t wait to see the dance on Saturday!!”

Sara and Aljaz were snapped taking a break from rehearsals as Sara grabbed something to eat.
They are believed to be training on Teesside, as Sara lives in Wynyard and her family.
Slovenian Aljaz joined the show for the first time in 2013. He won the first year with model Abbey Clancy, but has not claimed the crown since.
Sara, who is an entrepreneur and started Crafter’s Companion, was open about how thrilled she was to be paired with Aljaz.
Aljaz previously stated that he would be training with Sara, a mom of two.
“I can finally shout it from the top of my lungs! I will be the best possible plus 1 to Sara Davies!
“Beyond excited that my ninth season I will be training up north. We have started working on our first dance already and I am just over the moon with how lovely and talented Sara is,” He said.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday night at 7.45pm on BBC One
