Stat shows Man Utd’s transfer wishlist could be perfect for replacing Paul Pogba

A Premier League statistic has shown Manchester United’s transfer plans for 2022 are spot on as they prepare to replace Paul Pogba.

His contract at Old Trafford will expire after the season, and Mino Raiola, his agent, has suggested that he could return to Juventus.

Pogba could remain with United, as there are reports that he is considering signing a new contract. However, the Red Devils will have to plan for their future without him.

They had already made Declan Rice, West Ham’s number one target, their top choice for a central midfielder.

If Pogba goes they may well need to make another investment in the centre of the park and another man they have previously expressed an interest in is Ruben Neves of Wolves.

Both of these targets are among the Prem’s top three midfielders who have made most passes to the final third this season.

Third is Rice, and second is Neves. Pogba currently ranks first in this category.

Pogba has of course been playing mostly in a more advanced position out on the left, from where he’s made seven assists in just four games.

Rice and Neves’ contributions are even more impressive because they both came from a more defensive position.

Pogba, a World Cup winner, has several top European clubs interested in his signature, including Real Madrid, PSG and Barcelona.

But the infamous Raiola told Rai Sport: “Paul Pogba’s contract with Manchester United expires in June. We will talk with Man Utd, let’s see what happens.

“Juventus? Paul still loves Turin. There’s a chance that Pogba will return to Juventus, yes – but it also depends on Juventus’ plans.”

According to brother Mathias, he hasn’t yet made up his mind on where his future lies, though he did say he was “feeling very good” at United.
