Saved By The Bell New Season Sees Leah Remini Making Dramatic Return

The new Saved by the bell may not be able to imagine Stacey Carosi . to afford flashback, but what about Stacey Carosi in real life?

During the season 2 finale of the Peacock revival, which aired on Wednesday, a montage of never-before-seen Jessie/Slater moments – more on that College years scene here – culminates in Slater referencing Leah Remini’s beloved character from the Malibu Sands arc of the OG series. Shortly after, Douglas transplant DeVante tells girlfriend Nadia that he would like to stay in Bayside for “two more years and maybe even a summer in a beach club.”

With the current new class (not to be confused with Which New Class) already in junior year, would be a season – or even half a season – in the beach club An way to slow things down, should Peacock decide to renew the revival for season 3 and beyond.

“From the moment I first pitched the show, it was always on my mind,” executive producer Tracey Wigfield tells TVLine when asked about a possible return to Malibu Sands. “I think we’ve done a good job when we have OG cast or guest stars from the original, to use them in a meaningful way and not just have them come back and say a sentence. And I’ve seen in the press that Leah Remini has said she wants to do the show, which would be a dream of mine. So I’d like to… have her do an arc where she now clearly owns Malibu Sands, she’s taken over as Mr. Carosi’s daughter.”

As for revisiting other OG SBTB storylines, Wigfield says she would like the revival to hit the Aloha State, à la Saved by the bell: Hawaiian style. “Like they did on the old show, maybe we’ll just go there one day and film the outside,” she says. “Everything else is just, you know, in Santa Monica, but we’re ignoring the pier in the background.”

Remini recently reunited with Gosselaar on the Saved by the bell rewatch podcast Zack to the future to discuss her sixth and final appearance in the original series – Season 3, Episode 12: “The Last Weekend.”

“I have Saved by the bell, and what was funny is very long in my career – [I had done] Live dolls, cheers, friends – people would say ‘I loved you on’ Saved by the bell,’ and they still do!” said Remini. “I Did 207 Episodes of” The king of queens, and people say, ‘Yeah, yeah, King of Queens, but Saved by the bell.’”

Gosselaar also played on the summer novel by Zack and Stacey.

“There’s an undeniable chemistry between you and me that we’ve seen,” Gosselaar told Remini, referring to his recent rewatch of the entire Malibu Sands arc. “Tiffany [Thiessen] and I’ve never had a kiss like in these six episodes. There is not a single person Zack comes in contact with, in my opinion, who had any chemistry [like] you and I had.”
