Sailor Moon Eternal Movie Release Date, Cast & Plot | Netflix is releasing Sailor Moon Eternal in 2 Parts

Netflix acquired the international streaming rights to the latest installment in the hugely successful and famous anime Sailor Moon franchise, Sail Moon Eternal.

This is arguably the biggest anime acquisition by the streaming giant and the fan are delighted as they learned that both, Part 1 and Part 2 of the film would be available globally.

Ema Hirayama, Manager, Content Acquisition, Netflix said, “It’s a dream come true for all of us at Netflix to have ‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie’ join our expansive anime slate and to share this incredible story with fans around the world.”

Sailor Moon Eternal is based on the Sailor Moon Manga, created by the author Naoko Takeuchi. The movie was released in the theatres in Japan, earlier this year.

It was the second time ever for a Sailor Moon movie to be released in theatres, the first was Sailor Moon SuperS: The Movie in 1995.

Sailor Moon Eternal Release Date

The film has been split into two-part. Netflix’s official YouTube account for anime content released a trailer for Sailor Moon Eternal.

Both parts will be available to stream internationally on Netflix on June 3rd.

Sailor Moon Eternal Cast 

The cast for this movie has been reprised. Super Sailor Moon’s Japanese voice actor is Kotono Mitsuishi who voiced the same character in Sailor Moon SuperS. The American voice actor for Super Sailor Moon is Stephanie Sheh.

Yoshitsugu Matsuoka and Chris Niosi are the Japanese and American voice actors for Pegasus, respectively.

Sailor Moon Eternal Plot 

Sailor Moon Eternal takes place during the Dream Arc of the Sailor Moon Manga and is the direct continuation of the Sailor Moon Crystal anime series.

Set in April, when cherry blossoms are in bloom and Tokyo is in a festive mood of celebrating the total solar eclipse, Sailor Moon and Chibiusa meet the Pegasus who is looking for two maidens to break the seal of the Golden Crystal.

Meanwhile, the nefarious troupe called the Dead Moon Circus appears in town whose plan is to conquer the Earth, the Moon, and eventually the universe by obtaining the Legendary Silver Crystal.
