Pushpa: The Rise, directed by Sukumar, was released in theatres on December 17. The film was initially slated to release on Christmas (December 25) but was pushed ahead by a week to avert a box office clash with Ranveer Singh’s 83.

The real test for Pushpa begins today as nearly ten films from different languages have been released. Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai called Pushpa a blockbuster and added that the film had retained more than 170 screens in Kerala.
