Page 3’s Leilani Dowding slams Boris Johnson as he wades in on Strictly vaccine scandal

Leilani Dowding is no stranger when it comes to saying what is really on her mind and following the news that three Strictly Come Dancingcontestants vowed to not be vaccinated, she had nothing but praise for them but was left seeing red when the Prime Minister commented on the situation.

The former Page 3 model has been openly against the introduction of coronavirus vaccines and was furious following the news that vaccine passports are set to be implemented.

Now, Leilani, 42, has spoken of her admiration for the three unnamed dancers who have allegedly turned down the vaccine, reportedly sparking outrage.

Speaking to Daily Star, Leilani was less than impressed after hearing that Boris Johnson had vowed to “lecture” the unvaccinated dancers.

She added: “The fact that Boris Johnson chimed in on it when there are so many issues going on around this country and he chimes in on a tv show because three dancers don’t want to be vaccinated.

“I think it’s disgusting that with all the things going on right now, that’s what he’s going to chime in on, I think it’s an embarrassment.”

Boris Johnson recently vowed to “lecture” the unvaccinated dancers claiming he would not “bully them” but instead give them a lecture on the “wonderful” vaccine.

The businesswoman continued: “I think everybody, as always should have the right to choose whether they want a jab and no one careers, no one should be affected by this.

“If these people had had the vaccine, the dancers and the crew and everyone else and the vaccine is supposed to do its job and keep you out of the hospital, what business is it of anybody else to start pushing and pressuring people to get it?”

Leilani who appeared on The Real Housewives of Cheshire went on to say: “If the vaccine works and you’re protected or it doesn’t work, then what the hell does it matter if anybody else gets it?

“If it doesn’t work, why does it matter if they get it? It’s not your business if anybody else has it and if it doesn’t work, why are people being pressured into getting it?

“I think it’s absolutely none of their business and I fully support the dancers who have made the choice as it’s their choice to make.”

Following claims that celebrities had “threatened to quit” the competition over the unvaccinated professionals, the BBC stated that this was not the case.

In a statement, they said: “The BBC has never commented nor confirmed the vaccination status of anyone on the show. It’s not our place to.

“It is not the case that concerns have been raised with the BBC or the Strictly production team from dancers or celebrities about vaccination, or that they have threatened to quit.

“We have in place strict procedures to protect those on the show and the wider production. Among the many measures in place on Strictly, the dancers are tested regularly to be in close contact with their partners.”

Leilani’s comments come just hours after Tom Fletcher and his partner Amy Dowden announced they had tested positive for coronavirus and would be isolating, in adherence with government guidelines.
