Paatal Lok which translates to Netherworld or Underworld is a notable crime-thriller web series which is about a police officer who is corrupt. However, the officer trusted his morality over corruption when he began to investigate a case which is about the assassination of a renowned journalist. The first season of Paatal Lok released this month. The show has a massive fan-following across the country due to its bleak visual, gritty narrative, striking performances m neo-noir overtones and multi-layered characters.
Sudip Sharma’s web series is loosely based on the book of Tarun Tejpal, namely ‘The Story of my Assassins.’
Release Date of Paatal Lok Season 2
The first season of Paatal Lok is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video since the 15th of May 2020. The series comprises of nine episodes having a runtime of around 45-50 mins each.
Given that the series did end on a conclusive note, there is a high like chance that the series could return for a second season due to its massive popularity. Moreover, Jaideep Ahlawat recently revealed that there is a chance that Paatal Lok might return for a second run. Also, he hinted that the creator of the series is already working on the script for the second season.
Star Cast of Paatal Lok Season 2
If the show returns for a second run then Jaideep Ahlawat might reprise his role as Hathi Ram Chaudhary and Sanjeev Mehra will once again portray the role of Neeraj Kabi. Ishwak Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Swastika Mukherjee will be for the second season alongside the additional cast.
