Netflix and Riot Games announced on Saturday evening that mysterious, the animated series set in the League of Legends video game universe, has been revamped for season 2.
The news came just hours after the last three episodes of Season 1 premiered on the streamer.
“We are more than happy with the positive response to mysterious‘s first season and are working hard with the creative wizards of Riot and Fortiche to deliver our second installment,” series co-creators Christian Linke and Alex Yee said in a statement.

In the past relative to the League of Legends universe, mysterious serves as a prequel and delves into the delicate balance between the wealthy town of Piltover and Zaun’s seedy underbelly.
“The tensions between these city-states come to a boil with the creation of hextech – a way for everyone to master magical energy – in Piltover; and in Zaun, a new drug called shimmer transforms people into monsters,” reads the series synopsis. “The rivalry between the cities divides families and friends as Arcane brings to life the relationships that make up some of the famous champions of League of Legends, including Vi, Jinx, Caitlyn, Jayce and Viktor.”
