Ms. Marvel is an upcoming American television miniseries created by Bisha K. Ali for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics character Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel. It is the sixth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Also, it is produced by Marvel Studios, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise. Ali serves as a head writer with Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah leading the directing team.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah directed the first and sixth episodes, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy directed three episodes of the series, including the fourth and fifth episodes, and Meera Menon directed one episode.

Ms. Marvel: Casts and Plot!

Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel, A 16-year-old Muslim Pakistani-American from Jersey City who writes superhero fan fiction, particularly of Captain Marvel, and gains shape-shifting powers. Saagar Shaikh as Amir Khan,  Kamala’s older brother, Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur also starring.

The series was announced with Ali’s involvement in August 2019. Additionally, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer, Nimra Bucha, Alyy Khan, Alysia Reiner, and Fawad Khan are the cast in undisclosed roles. While Laurel Marsden will appear as Zoe Zimmer. Vellani, El Arbi and Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and Meera Menon appeared as the series’ directors. Filming began in early November 2020, shooting in Atlanta, Georgia, and New Jersey, before concluding in Thailand in May 2021.

With Hawkeye‘s finale now out for the world to enjoy, MCU fans set their sights on what’s next in the Disney Plus/Marvel Studios calendar. As for the next canon live-action series, that remains unknown. The one fans are hoping for, however, is Ms. Marvel. Ms. Marvel is scheduled to premiere in mid-2022 and will consist of six episodes.

It will be part of Phase Four of the MCU. The series will serve as a set-up for the film The Marvels (2023), in which Vellani will reprise her role as Khan along with additional cast members.
