Cleaning and home influencer Mrs Hinch is all about inspiring her fans to keep their homes looking beautiful – and she loves to keep costs low.
Sophie’s fan’s adore her homeware collections, but the Instagram star, who has over 4.1million Instagram followers, also keeps them on their toes with her nifty tips and tricks.
Whether it’s sticking sanitary towels coated with scent in her drawers or scrubbing off stains with The Pink Stuff, the mum-of-two always has something up her sleeve.
Her latest DIY hack has been loved by her 31-year-old followers.
Sophie shared this week on Instagram Stories how she turned her Ikea purchases into designer-looking goods.
The cleaning obsessive said: “OK so I have a little idea in mind on what I’d like to do with my two Ikea purchases.”
Then, she showed off the £4 plastic stool and matching mini coffee table, £19, that she’d picked up from the Swedish store.
Sophie guided her followers through the process of giving their homes a new look in just minutes.
First, the mom, who was pregnant with her second son in January, assembled the furniture pieces.
Then, she gave them a coat of paint to make them match her home’s colour scheme.
She said: “I am loving the look of this ‘Dark Hessian’ range and I love this make of spray paint.
“I’ve used it a lot.
“It’s good paint, I’ve used it a lot. Let’s see how they turn out and I’ll show you what I’ve got in mind.”
In the snap she showed off the PlastiKote chalk paint which costs £8 a can from Wickes.
Mrs Hinch then dried the paint and attached her HINCH placemat made of rattan to the stool’s top.
You can buy the HINCH range at Tesco where placemats cost £3.
For the mini table Sophie placed a rattan tray on top.
She explained: “Sometimes it’s so hard to find a mini side table to not only move around the house easily but also fit into smaller places and that matches the colour palette.
“With a bit of spray paint and styling, we’re done”.
Showing off the completed project, Sophie added: “Not bad for a £4 Ikea stool. You can spray paint the frame to match your own decor of course and my Hinch place mat is £3.”
Discussing the mini table, she commented: “I’ve always wanted a tray table in my own colour palette so I’m over the moon with this one (it’s the Gladom Ikea table £19) and my Hinch tray fits perfect too.”
The mum then proudly displayed her creations in her living room.
What do you think – will you give this look a go?
