The Independence Day this year has arrived with the release of two big-budget movies on the big screen. There is going to be a hard battle between Mission Mangal and Batla House.
Although both the movies are based on different subjects and have a different tale, both have a core element of patriotism in them.
While Mission Mangal starring Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menon and Sharman Joshi in main roles is based on Chandrayaan – India’s Mission to Moon, John Abraham-Mrunal Thakur’s Batla House is based on the encounter case that took place in Delhi on 19th of September, 2008.
Mission Mangal / Batla House Day 1 Box Office Collection Predictions:
As the box office is always seen brighter for Akshay Kumar, Mission Mangal is trending better than its competition. On the other hand, Batla House is gradually grabbing the eyes of the audience.
Talking about advance bookings, both films are running parallel. However, Akshay’s movie is most probably to earn double than the expected advance bookings.
According to the Trade analyst Girish Johar, although the coincidence of Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan coming up on the same day this year has taken the additional partial holiday away, there is no doubt that the families will still be available to watch both the films.
According to a film trade analyst Sarita Singh, Mission Mangal will take over Batla House. She further added, “Both films are high on content but Mission Mangal is a film for the masses.”
It is expected that this Independence Day, both the films together will bring in a box office collection of Rs 35 to 40 crores.
Also, both the movies did not leave any chance to make this weekend one of the most entertaining weekends of the year.
