Manchester City have reportedly rejected a £15million offer from Borussia Dortmund for teenage sensation Liam Delap.
According to reports, the Bundesliga giants were interested in the 18 year-old striker at the close of the summer transfer window. They even made an official offer.
Premier League champions Delap is highly valued by Stoke City legend Rory. The bid was rejected due to the immense potential of Delap.
And Football Insider have revealed that even a £15million package for the teenager, who has only made three appearances and scored one goal for the first team, wasn’t enough to tempt the Citizens.
Dortmund were previously been successful in luring away another young star from City in Jadon Sancho, signing him as a 17-year-old in 2017.
Pep Guardiola is said to be a big fan of Delap. He scored 24 goals in 20 games for City under-23s, winning the Premier League 2 Division One title.
The club settled on Delap as their forward to a five year contract that will continue until 2026.
Delap now has an easy route to the first team, Gabriel Jesus being the only outside striker. City had been unable this summer to sign Harry Kane.
