Liverpool could be able to gazump Arsenal and sign Brighton star Yves Bissouma on a cut-price transfer deal as soon as the January transfer window.
Bissouma’s performance for the Seagulls has been impressive since he joined the Premier League side in 2018 from Lille France.
Graham Potter has made Bissouma a key player since Chris Hughton took over in 2018.
The midfielder appeared in all but two Premier League games last season and has continued to play a key role this term, featuring in all five of Brighton’s games so far.
Bissouma was man-of-the-match in his side’s defeat of Watford earlier this campaign, and has helped them to a surprising top four spot at this early stage of the season.
His performances at the AMEX Stadium have attracted a long line of suitors, with Liverpool and the Gunners thought to be two of the frontrunners.
The Ivorian was linked with a departure from the South Coast for much of the summer, but ultimately stayed as a result of the money brought in from Ben White’s sale to Arsenal.
Bissouma’s performance is still impressive so potential suitors will likely make another bid in the next transfer window.

While he is clearly one of the top-flight’s most promising midfielders, Bissouma could be available for a cut-price fee.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Bissouma has entered the final two years of his contract with the Seagulls.
Brighton may have to sell Bissouma for less than the valuation if he refuses a new contract.
It is stated that he could be bought for a low fee as early as January, with the Reds keen to boost their midfield options following the summer exit of Georginio Wijnaldum.
Bissouma is one of their top targets, though they will have to fend off competition from Mikel Arteta’s Gunners if they are to bring him to Anfield.
