Know More About The Cast Lineup From Narcos: Mexico Season 3

Narcos fans are about to be orphaned once more: the last season of the 2015 crime drama’s spin-off, Narcos: Mexico, was recently published on Netflix, signaling the end of the Mexican cartels’ reign. At least, that’s the case in the domain of fiction. Narcos: Mexico was released in 2018 and was created by Chris Brancato, Carlos Bernard, and Doug Miro.

The spin-off focused on the rise and fall of the Guadalajara cartel in Mexico during the 1980s, following real-life figures like Miguel Angel Félix Gallardo, “El Chapo” Guzmán, and Kiki Camarena. While the parent show focused on the Colombian drug trade in the 1990s, the spin-off focused on the rise and fall of the Guadalajara cartel in Mexico during the 1980s.

All About Narcos: Mexico Season 3

Former policeman Félix Gallardo, also known as “El Padrino” (The Godfather), was responsible for combining the numerous smuggling zones known as “plazas,” serving as the de facto creator of the modern-day Mexican drug trade and becoming the leader of the Guadalajara cartel.

He was arrested in 1989 for the murder of Kiki Camarena, as well as drug trafficking and other offenses. His arrest resulted in the cartel’s collapse and the beginning of the current Mexican drug war. Félix gets arrested at the end of Season 2, bringing his tale to a close. Luna did not return for the last season of the show.

The true “El Padrino” is still in jail today. However, owing to his failing health, he was relocated to a medium-security institution in 2014. After his arrest in 2021, he gave his first interview, in which he denied even knowing Camarena.

The DEA agent played by Michael Pen, who was born and raised in California, was dispatched to Mexico to gather intelligence on the country’s burgeoning drug trade. After a raid on a marijuana ranch in 1984, Camarena was abducted by Guadalajara cartel members and carried to Rafael Caro’s home, where he was tortured and executed. His body was discovered on the outskirts of La Angostura, wrapped in plastic.
