Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 will be coming next year, according to the cast of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film and anime.
The announcement came during a recent screening of the recently released Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film, with voice actor Junya Enoki appearing at a screening of the film to celebrate the film before revealing that a second season would be coming in 2023. Alongside the news, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami, released a new illustration to commemorate both the success of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 as well as celebrate the second season’s announcement.
The news of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 comes just a few weeks after the president of the MBS television channel, Yōichi Mushiaki, asked fans to be patient in regards to a second season. Thankfully for fans of the series, they didn’t have to wait too long, although the second season is still a ways away from premiering.
Jujutsu Kaisen premiered in October 2020 with a 24-episode first season, and immediately became a hit amongst fans. A film — Jujutsu Kaisen 0 — was released in Japan on December 24, 2021, and since its release has already become the 64th highest-earning film in Japanese box office history.
The anime is based on the manga title of the same name. Both the manga and anime have found widespread success in Japan, with the manga having sold over 55 million copies.
