Jack Grealish sends message to Emi Martinez after Aston Villa star mocks Man Utd

Jack Grealish had a message to Emi Martinez after his antics against Manchester United at the weekend.

The Red Devils were defeated by Aston Villa at Old Trafford after Kortney Hause headed the winner in the 88th minute.

But there was further drama to come when the goalscorer handled the ball in the area deep into injury-time.

It gave the Red Devils the chance to snatch a point while Bruno Fernandes stood over the ball from 12 yards out.

The Portugal international tried to ignore the Villa players, who swarmed the midfielder as his teammates tried to push them away.

One of them included the goalkeeper Martinez, who could be seen pointing to Cristiano Ronaldo – who was behind Fernandes – telling the 36-year-old that he should be the one taking penalties.

The spot-kick went ahead but Fernandes blasted the ball over and the three points went to Villa as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fumed on the sidelines.

With the ball still in orbit, Martinez turned to the United fans behind the goal and gave a little cheeky jig – much to the delight of the Villa supporters.

A clip of the Argentine’s dance has gone viral and Grealish was one of those who enjoyed his former teammate’s antics.

On Instagram, Martinez said: “Unreal performance from everyone today. 3 points, clean sheet – job done.”

And Grealish replied: “Emi you funny guy, well done bro.”

The England international left Villa in the summer for Manchester City in a record-breaking £100m transfer but remains a fan of his old side.

And, as a City player, there was another reason to celebrate with United a potential title contender.

But this has been a difficult week for the Red Devils, who also lost to Young Boys in the Champions League and face Villarreal next.
