This comes as big happy news for all the cricket enthusiasts. The IPL was to be started on March 29. But as we all know, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was postponed. Many thought that BCCI might call off IPL for this year. But that will surely not happen. Cricket is already back to the ground with the England vs West Indies test series. The matches are played with no crowd with all precautions and safety measures being taken. IPL is also expected to be played with similar guidelines. Sources reveal that the IPL will take place in the United Arab Emirates from September 26 To November 6. Though Sourav Ganguly, president of BCCI said that hosting IPL in India will be his first priority, it seems like it’s unlikely to happen. He also said that “Not hosting the Indian Premier League (IPL) will cause losses to the tune of Rs. 4,000 crore.” and “If the IPL takes place, we won’t have to go in for pay cuts. We’ll manage things”. So keeping these in mind, the BCCI has decided to conduct IPL. Sources say that the franchises have already started their preparations for the UAE. Booking chartered planes and selecting hotels is taking place. So brace yourselves, the cricket mania is soon to be back. Sports
