Harry Kane playing like he “doesn’t want to be there” after dismal Chelsea display

Pundit Jamie O’Hara claimed Harry Kane was playing like he “doesn’t want to be there” during his side’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea.

In an impressive performance, the Blues beat Spurs by scoring three goals. Thiago Silva and N’Golo Kante scored a goal each.

The big question before the match was whether Kane would make an impact on the game for the away side. However, the striker failed to convert.

The side’s vice-captain was the subject of a drawn-out saga over the summer transfer window and he is yet to find the net in a Premier League game so far this campaign despite playing 288 minutes.

And talkSPORT pundit and former Spurs player O’Hara has said that he feels Kane’s performance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Thomas Tuchel’s men spoke of a player who would rather be playing elsewhere.

He said: “I’ll be on @talkSPORT in the morning and I’m gonna find it hard not to hammer a few players, desire to put your body on the line to keep the ball out the net just isn’t there, waiting to get beat, and Harry Kane looks like he don’t [sic] want to be there.”

Kane, 28, only mustered two touches in the opposition box during the entirety of the contest, while he has not bagged a goal in the first four league games the first time since the 2015-16 season.

Roy Keane after the match raised some concerns about Tottenham’s display, saying that he felt “angry” watching Nuno Espírito Santo’s men play against their London rivals.

The former Manchester United captain said: “I’ve no problem with Tottenham being short of quality, (but) even Kane’s body language today, his performance today Kane, oh my goodness.

Is Jamie O’Hara correct to judge Harry Kane’s performance in the match against Chelsea? Let us know in the comments section.

“I’m pretty angry watching Spurs there, you talk about football, the second goal the difference between desire and wanting to win a football match we seen that.

“Tottenham players not doing the basics, I’m talking about closing someone down, putting your body on the line, that comes from within, we can criticise maybe the coach and a lot of other stuff but get to the ball, stop the shot, put your body on the line.”

Chelsea’s win has them top of the Premier League table – Spurs, however, are now seventh in the league having lost their last two fixtures.
