The day that will certainly give goosebumps to the millions of Indians has already started to make its presence felt. Flags can be seen hoisted in every nook and corner of the country.
It’s the day when the nation will present their tributes to the ones who sacrificed their lives securing independence for the country. Rightly so they should be given every sort of respect, they truly deserve it.
History of Independence Day.
It was the morning of the 15th of August 1947 when for the very first time the Indian National Flag was Hoisted. It was Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who hoisted the flag at the Red fort. Since then the serving Prime Minister of the country flags the Indian flag at the Red fort.

Every Indian has some sort of emotions attached to this day, and they won’t get any better opportunity to showcase their feelings for the country.
15th August is a national holiday throughout the country. The flag hoisting ceremony is conducted in different regions.
Schools are definitely a place to have a visit on Independence Day. There’s huge chaos in almost every school, with children participating in a different cultural program, giving speeches on the personalities that were instrumental in achieving independence.

Every Indian Prime minister is supposed to address the nation on the occasion of Independence Day. In the sequence, Narendra Modi will speak to the nation on the upcoming Thursday.
Modi will be the one hoisting the Indian National flag at the Red Fort. Post the flag hoisting, he will address the nation, and in his speech, he will list out the achievements the country has made since the date of independence, and particularly the ones made in the past one year.
The entire program will telecast live on Doordarshan network.
