TV chef Gordon Ramsay is well known for cracking the whip and turning up the heat, with TV shows like Hell’s Kitchen and Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares that only accentuate his hair-raising persona.
But when it comes to his private life, Gordon surprisingly takes a similar stance with his children – which includes Strictly Come Dancing star Tilly Ramsay.
In previous interviews, 54-year-old Gordon revealed that he is never afraid to put his foot down with his daughter Megan, 23, 21-year-old twins Jack and Holly, Matilda (Tilly), 19 and son Oscar who is two.
And it looks like his wife Tana, 47, also follows suit as they lay the rules with a rather strict regime.
So Daily Star have taken a look at Gordon’s strict rules, which his children must all abide by while living under his roof.
Gordon will not give his children a job
Chef Ramsay doesn’t subscribe to the notion of automatically providing his children with a job to work alongside him, after he confirmed he’d rather his kids worked for another chef if needs be.
Speaking openly on US radio, the TV star confessed: “I’m firm, I’m fair and I will give you everything I’ve got to get you to the very top. And that’s it, no bulls**t. I take a lot of flak for being straight and honest, but I’m not worried about that f*****g snowflake generation.
“It’s like not employing the kids. I don’t want the staff thinking, ‘F**k it’s Ramsay’s kid, we can’t tell them off.'”
He added: “You want to work in this business? You f**k off to another chef, learn something different and come back with something new to improve the business.”
No inheritance when he passes away
Another surprising aspect pertaining to finances is that Gordon will not be leaving his children a large amount of his inheritance when he dies.
Although the star is worth a staggering £162.1million, Gordon does not believe in spoiling his children and has confessed that his hard earned cash won’t be going to his kids.
While being interviewed by The Telegraph, Gordon said: “It’s definitely not going to them, and that’s not in a mean way; it’s to not spoil them.”
“The only thing I’ve agreed with Tana is they get a 25% deposit on a flat, but not the whole flat.”
The father-of-five intends to leave the majority of his life earnings to charities that he is currently supporting.
Kids cannot fly first class
To keep his children humble with their feet firmly on the ground, Gordon refuses to book first class tickets for his children when they fly and books tickets for them in economy instead.
But outspoken chef sparked fury from fans when he admitted this in 2017.
Explaining the process of what happens when he and his family go abroad, Gordon previously said: “I turn left with Tana and they turn right and I say to the chief stewardess: ‘Make sure those little f***ers don’t come anywhere near us, I want to sleep on this plane’.
“I worked my f***ing arse off to sit that close to the pilot and you appreciate it more when you’ve grafted for it.”
Speaking more about his reasoning behind his decision to leave his children behind, the chef explained that he doesn’t see the relevancy in allowing children to be sat in first class with a “ten course f*****g menu with champagne.”
No vegetarians under his roof
Bank Balance star Gordon is evidently passionate about food and cooking, so much so that he wouldn’t be happy if one of his kids turned out to be a vegetarian.
Though likely not an outright ban, the TV star once admitted that he would not be impressed if one of his children wanted to cut out meat completely and become a veggie.
He also joked that if his children did decide to turn their back on meat he would “electrocute them”.
In 2005, Gordon hit headlines when a video showed him and his daughter Tilly saying “goodbye” to a turkey before they placed the bird in the oven for their Christmas dinner.
No swearing allowed
Gordon is known to fans worldwide for his foul mouthed outbursts and his sharp tongue, but surprisingly, the dad does not tolerate any form of rude language or swearing in his home.
Talking about the use of swear words, the award-winning chef admitted he leaves his swearing at work.
In an interview, Gordan once said: “Swearing is industry language. For as long as we’re alive it’s not going to change. You’ve got to be boisterous to get results.
He added: “They know I’ve said bad words. I say it is an industry language. They don’t swear. They don’t walk around shouting the f-word.”
No star-studded romances
Growing up in the world of glitz and glamour would most likely lead several star’s children to date someone who grew up in a similar background.
But Gordon is not a fan of children embarking on romances with other famous stars or people who work in the entertainment industry.
And Gordon was left far from impressed when he discovered his daughter Tilly was dating Gino D’Acampo’s son Luciano.
More recently, the Kitchen Nightmares star instructed Tilly to not fall under the famous Strictly curse by sparking a romance with her dance partner during this year’s competition.
In a short TikTok video shared on ITV’s This Morning, Gordon and his wife shared a message to Tilly ahead of her Strictly stint.
Gordon said: “Hey Tils it’s your dad – TikTok coach, dance extraordinaire… wishing you all the very best.
“We’re proud of you girl. Love you!”
Tana added: “She’s leaving you far behind. Thank goodness it’s her and not you…
“Tilly, you’re incredibly brave, I’m terrified but so excited for you. Good luck!”
Gordon the added: “And don’t date those dancers!”
Limits on pocket money
The majority of children who belong to a famous parent have an unlimited amount of money to spend every month.
This however is not the case for Gordon’s children who have a limited amount of pocket money and have to use it to cover their own expenses.
Fiery chef Gordon previously revealed that his oldest daughter Meg receives a £100 a week, while the others get roughly £50 a week.
He also expressed that his children must “pay for their own phones and their bus fare” with pocket money he gives them.
Last but not least, Gordon expects his children to roll up their sleeves and do their chores while they are living under his roof.
Although some celeb children have it easy with their very own house help, this is certainly not the case for the star’s offspring.
Gordon expressed the importance of setting the standard in his home and expressed that his children must all do their part.
The proud dad said his kids must all tidy up after themselves once they have finished eating their dinner.
Not only this, but Gordon said it is important they learn to cook and do their homework, as he keeps a tight system with his kids in his home.
