Falcon & Winter Soldier Season 2: Sebastian Stan’s Role & Importance In It

Sebastian Stan told Collider’s Steve Weintraub during an interview in favor of his new film Monday that he has been playing Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for “11 years.” He is, nonetheless, eternally grateful for the experience. And, most crucially, his Marvel Studios supervisors, including and especially mega-producer Kevin Feige, are grateful as well.

Stan openly enthused us about the pleasures of working with Feige and Marvel, particularly in regards to his latest venture. Stan believes that a lack of vanity is part of the Marvel mindset toward their work and potential future installments: “I have the idea that no one is over at that studio, getting caught up in the din.”

They are completely enamored with their profession. They’re just appreciative all of the time. Which, if you look at the endings of the movies, a lot of them are like, ‘Well, this could be it, but maybe we’ll get lucky and get another one!’ ‘Well, yeah, we’re Marvel, we’ll just fucking hit another home run,’ there was never a line like, ‘Well, yeah, we’re Marvel, we’ll just fucking hit another home run.’

We were only introduced to Sam (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky (Sebastian Stan)’s journey in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and it feels like yesterday. But, regrettably, six episodes later, we’ve reached the conclusion of Season 1.

What comes next is, of course, unknown, as Marvel fans turn their attention to the upcoming Disney+ series Loki, which premiered on June 11. Despite the fact that fans might expect Marvel to quickly produce more Falcon and the Winter Soldier episodes after the success of season 1, it doesn’t appear that a sequel is in the works at this time.

Set-up for a Dark Avengers/Thunderbolts subplot and Captain America 4 took up a big portion of Falcon & The Winter Soldier’s conclusion, harming prospects to wrap up the arcs of the current characters, particularly when it came to Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes.

Will there be a second season of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier?

Marvel has yet to confirm whether or not this plot involving Bucky, Sam, Cap (Wyatt Russell), and Zemo (Daniel Brühl) will be continued.

Sebastian recently told Collider that he hasn’t heard anything regarding a second season from Marvel CEO Kevin Feige, but given how secretive Marvel is, that shouldn’t come as a surprise. Sebastian, on the other hand, made it obvious that if given the chance, he’d be happy to film more episodes. However, the series ended with a note that said Captain America and The Winter Soldier Will Return.

Dark Avengers and Captain America 4 will be set up by the series

The final battle with the Flag-Smashers was won in Falcon & The Winter Soldier, allowing the rest of the show to finish things up. However, rather than wrapping up the current chapter with Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, a lot of time was spent setting up the future.

Instead, the series used its last episode to show not just John Walker’s transformation into a US Agent and enlistment into The Contessa’s Dark Avengers/Thunderbolts team, but also Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter’s more sinister destiny as the Power Broker.
