Comedy babe Emily Atack has broken her silence following her split from boyfriend Jude Taylor, declaring: “Being single is great”.
The I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star sat down with OK! Magazine ahead of the release of her new stand-up comedy sketch series, The Emily Atack Show, which returns for a second instalment next week on ITV2.
“I am single. Being single isn’t always a happy thing, but I definitely think it isn’t a bad thing,” The stunner was revealed.
“And it shouldn’t be seen as something that’s shameful if you’re in your thirties and single. As I say, being single isn’t always great, but sometimes it’s really great. So yeah, I’m fine.”
After recently being spotted snogging a mystery man on a girls trip to Marbella, Emily opened up about enjoying her thirties and not caving to pressure to settle down before she is ready.
“I still feel like I’m 16 years old. I find it mad that I get keys given to me and I have to live in a house by myself. I feel like I’m a child in my head. I don’t feel older, I don’t feel wiser,” She agreed.
But Emily explained that she feels like there is “pressure” on women to “nail” certain things at certain times, but says it should be everyone’s individual choice to do what they want.
The 31-year-old said heading to Ibiza with your mates is just as valid, to think that this is “life right now”.
The new series of Emily’s eponymous show will see her chatting to viewers like they’re her extended WhatsApp group about a variety of hot topics, from relationships to body image.
In between her stand-up routines, she’ll also be showing off her hilarious celebrity impressions and sketches.
The Inbetweeners actress said she wants her audience to feel as though they’re sharing pints in their local with Emily, chatting about “slightly raucous” things.
Emily’s mum Kate Robbins joined EastEnders as a cast member recently. She performs hilarious impressions of Davina McAll, Lorraine Kelly, and Anna Richardson in her upcoming series.
But she admitted she gets “more nervous” about doing impressions than she does anything else in the show – but hopes the celebs she’s imitating find it “fun”.
The Emily Atack Show is on ITV2 at 10 p.m.
