Dune Succeeds To Pull Audience, Expected To Surpass Its Budget In Two Days.


Denis Villeneuve directorial Dunce starring Timothee Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, & Oscar Isaac in lead roles is a science fiction, which was released in U.S and Canada on 21 October 2021 (Thursday). And in India, it was released a day after its U.S release on 22 October 2021 (Friday).

The film grossed 5.1 million dollars and is expected to collect around 35-40 million dollars this weekend (Thursday, Friday & Saturday). The film is made up of 165 million dollars and earned around 135 million dollars till now at the box office, and it is expected to surpass its budget in two days.

The film was released on September 15th this year, in the 14 major markets outside the U.S like Russia, France, Germany, Taiwan, Italy, and Spain, where it grossed around 125 million dollars.

Moreover, in India, it collected Rs 5-6 crores (Approx.) and it is a good number especially, as it is being got leaked online on pirated sites, the good news for the film was the theatres in Maharashtra reopened on the same day, which was a plus point, and it surely has helped the film’s Day 1 Net collection.

This science fiction is being praised for the unique story and the amazing immersing effects of IMAX by the critics as well as the audience. Also, the cinemas are marginally opening with 100% occupancy in the country, recently the Andhra Pradesh C.M Jagan Mohan Reddy announced that the theatres will reopen with 100% occupancy, as it was halting the cinema’s business.

Whereas, the theatres in Kerala will also reopen from October 25th and this good news can boost the film’s business to 5 to 10 crores as we know that the Maharashtra state alone handles 30% of a film’s business in the country.

Our prediction is it could gross around Rs 25-30 crores Net collection in India.

The film explores the story of a war of the far future on a planet named Dune, where the main lead Oscar Isaac and his family are forced to fight the war between the native people of the planet.

The Fermen’s and the invaders is made under the banner of Legendary Pictures with the collab of Villeneuve films. Warner Bros Pictures are the distributors. Whereas, on the technical front: Greig Fraser is the  Cinematographer and Joe Walker is the Editor.
