Chilappol Penkutty Movie Review And Rating | Aavani Prasad, Prasad Nooranad Akshay Varma, July 19, 2019July 19, 2019 Today Chilappol Penkutty hit theatres. Due to the charm of nostalgic and beautiful songs this movie had already captured a lot of attention. The admission of Director saying the story got inspired by real events, contributed to its grand opening. Even though it is not as big as any other Malayalam movies, the new cast and crew, low budget, etc. did well on Vellithira. Director Prasad Nooranad shot lion’s share of the movie in his hometown Nooranad. Which is a part of Onattukara, one of the most beautiful places in Kerala. Kashmir is also a part of the story. [table id=24 /] With that said, the movie addresses another face of Kerala society which crawls into a girls dignity. Each day Kerala is overwhelmed with the number of rape cases reported. It shows the dark face of a state where society which barks about women’s dignity. How unsafe Kerala women are. The movie breaks the chains and bares the ironic nature of society. The Kathua incident in which an eight-year-old girl was brutally raped and murdered is the inspiration to this movie. Chilappol Penkutty will be talking about a story of two teenage girls. One of them gets influenced by recent social turmoil. Then they conduct an amateur investigation to make the criminal come to light. Director believes that this movie can be an encouragement to many girls and parents in real life. Suneesh Chunakkara is the Producer. It is evident that the director has used all his experience with a small screen in his first big-screen movie. Seeing that the storyline has more potential to become a movie than a short film made the Producer change his mind. Review Of Chilappol Penkutty Chilappol Penkutty is the small big film of the year. Even though the budget is low, storywise it is mind-blowing. The story will make you emotional and question the society you are living in. The director manages to take you through an emotional ride. This movie will break your belief that only male lead roles can make a movie succeed. This is a movie-oriented towards a family audience. ‘Chilappol Penkutty’ means ‘Sometimes a girl’, which makes it evident that the protagonist is a girl. This makes the movie even more special. Woman centered movies are a new trend in Kerala and show the voice and value women have in Kerala. Earlier many Directors have ventured with such movies with women in lead such as, ‘How Old Are You?’, ‘Ohm Shanthi Oshana’ etc. to name a few. The music, cinematography, and editing are highly appreciative. The director did a great job of telling a story that needs to be told. This film breaks every boundary that is set. A rare of a movie. You must definitely check this out. My Rating: 3/5 Here is the trailer of the movie which you can check out before going to watch the movie. Ok, thank you all for checking out my review.
